| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the DuPage County Medical | ||||||
| 4 | Society on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, The DuPage County Medical Society works to advance | ||||||
| 6 | quality healthcare delivery, to improve access to care, to | ||||||
| 7 | promote education and professional collaboration among | ||||||
| 8 | physicians, to foster improved physician-patient relations, | ||||||
| 9 | and to enhance public health; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, The DuPage County Medical Society's proud history | ||||||
| 11 | includes spearheading the county's polio vaccination program, | ||||||
| 12 | originating proposals that ultimately led to banning smoking on | ||||||
| 13 | airplanes and in other public areas, and supporting the DuPage | ||||||
| 14 | Medical Society Foundation, which has awarded nearly half a | ||||||
| 15 | million dollars in scholarship grants to area students pursuing | ||||||
| 16 | careers in healthcare; and

| 17 | WHEREAS, The DuPage County Medical Society will celebrate | ||||||
| 18 | its Centennial with an anniversary party with the theme | ||||||
| 19 | "Honoring Our Past, Shaping Our Future" in Wheaton on October | ||||||
| 20 | 10, 2018 and looks forward to continuing to improve healthcare | ||||||
| 21 | in DuPage County and the State; therefore, be it

| 1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 2 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 3 | congratulate the DuPage County Medical Society on its | ||||||
| 4 | centenary, and we commend its members for their dedication to | ||||||
| 5 | public service; we wish the Society another century of uniting | ||||||
| 6 | physicians, empowering patients, and supporting quality | ||||||
| 7 | healthcare; and be it further
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 9 | presented to the DuPage County Medical Society as an expression | ||||||
| 10 | of our esteem and respect.
