| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Gary C. Niehaus | ||||||
| 4 | on the occasion of his retirement as superintendent of the | ||||||
| 5 | McLean County Unit District No. 5; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Dr. Niehaus joined Unit 5 as the superintendent on | ||||||
| 7 | July 1, 2007; he previously served as the superintendent in | ||||||
| 8 | both the Charleston School District Unit 1 and Salem Elementary | ||||||
| 9 | School District 111; he also spent many years as a principal in | ||||||
| 10 | River Forest, Champaign, Effingham, and Baton Rouge, | ||||||
| 11 | Louisiana; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Dr. Niehaus is known for his open-door policy with | ||||||
| 13 | students, staff, and community members; he has brought many | ||||||
| 14 | innovative concepts to the district and has served with many | ||||||
| 15 | statewide educational organizations, including the Governor's | ||||||
| 16 | P-20 Council; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, In retirement, Dr. Niehaus will be golfing and | ||||||
| 18 | watching his beloved Illini; he and his wife, Becky, plan to | ||||||
| 19 | spend time with their 2 granddaughters; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 21 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||

| 1 | we congratulate Dr. Gary C. Niehaus on his retirement as | ||||||
