| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate
Jake Hamilton for | ||||||
| 4 | breaking the all-time career Sacred Heart-Griffin High School | ||||||
| 5 | scoring record in basketball
during the 2022-2023 season; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Jake Hamilton, who plays the position of guard | ||||||
| 7 | and wears the number 3, helped
lead his team to the Illinois | ||||||
| 8 | High School Association Class 3A State Championship in his | ||||||
| 9 | junior year during the 2021-2022 season; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Jake Hamilton is 6'3" and 195 lbs and has had a | ||||||
| 11 | fantastic season; he has scored
an average of 18 points per | ||||||
| 12 | game with 2.7 assists per game; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Jake Hamilton has been a part of the varsity team | ||||||
| 14 | all four years of his
playing career and has averaged 14.1 | ||||||
| 15 | points per game in his career; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Jake Hamilton broke the Sacred Heart-Griffin High | ||||||
| 17 | School all-time scoring record of 1,326 points that has
been | ||||||
| 18 | held since 1981 by Dick Schofield; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Jake Hamilton's record is now over 1,327 points, | ||||||
| 20 | and that record will continue
to grow as he finishes out his | ||||||

| 1 | final season as a senior in 2023; therefore, be it
