| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to commend Warren Stieg for his decades | ||||||
| 4 | of service to the Village of Okawville and the greater | ||||||
| 5 | Okawville community; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Warren Stieg, a former Okawville High School | ||||||
| 7 | teacher, has steadfastly served Okawville's Heritage House | ||||||
| 8 | Museum and its properties in a number of ways over the years, | ||||||
| 9 | including helping catalog all museum items, acting as a museum | ||||||
| 10 | tour guide, maintaining and cleaning its properties, providing | ||||||
| 11 | lawn maintenance, and helping to raise funds through the | ||||||
| 12 | making and sale of apple butter and kettle corn; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Warren Stieg has further assisted the Heritage | ||||||
| 14 | House Museum through his writing skills, composing newsletters | ||||||
| 15 | to museum members, crafting museum tour guide books, and | ||||||
| 16 | authoring nine books on Okawville's history, securing its | ||||||
| 17 | legacy for years to come; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Warren Stieg has further assisted the greater | ||||||
| 19 | Okawville community by being responsible for creating the | ||||||
| 20 | Annual Okawville Christmas Stroll's brochures, maps, and | ||||||
| 21 | tickets for many years; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Warren Stieg has previously served as parade | ||||||
| 2 | marshal for the Okawville Wheat Festival, an event he assisted | ||||||
| 3 | by helping make parade floats; and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Warren Stieg has played organ and piano at the | ||||||
| 5 | historic Original Springs Hotel in Okawville for many years; | ||||||
| 6 | and | ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Warren Stieg has remained an active participant | ||||||
| 8 | in his church; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Warren Stieg, outside of his many extracurricular | ||||||
| 10 | activities, is a loving husband, father, grandfather, and cat | ||||||
| 11 | dad; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 13 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 14 | we commend Warren Stieg for his decades-long dedication and | ||||||
| 15 | contributions to the Village of Okawville and the greater | ||||||
| 16 | Okawville community; and be it further | ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 18 | presented to Warren Stieg as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
| 19 | respect. | ||||||
