| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the Village of | ||||||
| 4 | Lindenhurst on the occasion of its 70th anniversary; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, The Village of Lindenhurst initially filed for | ||||||
| 6 | incorporation in November 1956, with elections for the first | ||||||
| 7 | village officials subsequently occurring in December 1956, and | ||||||
| 8 | the village was formally incorporated on January 16, 1957; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The Village of Lindenhurst has grown from a | ||||||
| 10 | community of approximately 900 residents to a vibrant | ||||||
| 11 | community of 14,406 residents; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, The Village of Lindenhurst has remained committed | ||||||
| 13 | to providing quality services and fostering a high-quality way | ||||||
| 14 | of life for its residents throughout its 70 years of growth and | ||||||
| 15 | development; and | ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, The Village of Lindenhurst has been shaped by the | ||||||
| 17 | dedication and civic spirit of its residents, elected | ||||||
| 18 | officials, employees, volunteers, and local community | ||||||
| 19 | organizations, whose time, talents, and service have helped | ||||||
| 20 | shape and strengthen the community; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, The Village of Lindenhurst continues to be a | ||||||
| 2 | community where residents can live, work, play, and grow with | ||||||
| 3 | pride; and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, The Village of Lindenhurst will celebrate its | ||||||
| 5 | 70th anniversary on September 29, 2026, a date which has been | ||||||
| 6 | proclaimed as Lindenhurst Day by Mayor Dominic Marturano to | ||||||
| 7 | honor this momentous milestone; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 9 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 10 | we congratulate the Village of Lindenhurst on achieving its | ||||||
| 11 | 70th anniversary; and be it further | ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 13 | presented to Mayor Dominic Marturano of the Village of | ||||||
| 14 | Lindenhurst as an expression of our esteem and respect. | ||||||
