HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Socialism has been attempted in a variety of
iterations throughout history across the globe, each time
ending in horrific tragedies, often in the form of chaos,
destruction, starvation, and death; and
WHEREAS, In the United States today, the Democratic
Socialists of America are the most vocal group advocating for
socialist policies that will eliminate safety and prosperity
for all Americans; and
WHEREAS, The Democratic Socialists of America seek to
expropriate the wealth-producing capital of millions of
Americans by advocating for exorbitantly high taxes and taxing
wealth assets which foster economic growth and development;
and
WHEREAS, The Democratic Socialists of America seek to
defund police departments to a level at which they can no
longer fight crime in any capacity, placing the most
vulnerable communities in harm's way; and
WHEREAS, The Democratic Socialists of America seek to
eliminate prisons to allow violent criminals to occupy any
space they choose and promote chaos and violence in the

streets; and
WHEREAS, The Democratic Socialists of America seek to end
qualified immunity for our police officers, choosing to side
with violent criminals instead of the brave men and women
trying to maintain peace and order in our communities; and
WHEREAS, The Democratic Socialists of America seek to
abolish United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement to
permit mass open borders without vetting the backgrounds or
number of people seeking entry into the United States; and
WHEREAS, The Democratic Socialists of America have
numerous other bad ideas that, if implemented, would ruin this
great country; and
WHEREAS, The rise of socialist policies like these
suggested in the United States today, often heralded under the
guises of "progress" and "equality", is concerning; and
WHEREAS, While those ideals of "progress" and "equality"
may sound commendable, ushered in through socialism they are
fanciful ideas never to be achieved, as all forms of socialism
lead to factionalism, violence, and theft thrust upon society
until capitalists, entrepreneurs, and hard-working people are
depleted of all their productive efforts and only desolation

and starvation remain; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
we unequivocally condemn all iterations of socialism and
recognize the dangerous ideology as nothing more than a
valuable history lesson in how to avoid chaos, destruction,
starvation, and death.
