| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives wishes to | ||||||
| 3 | congratulate Jane Voss, formally known as Jane Langen, on her | ||||||
| 4 | retirement on June 30, 2022, after 33 years of dedicated | ||||||
| 5 | service to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic | ||||||
| 6 | Opportunity and the State of Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Jane Voss began her career with the Department of | ||||||
| 8 | Commerce and Economic Opportunity in 1989 with the Legislative | ||||||
| 9 | Affairs team; she served stints in the Department of Commerce | ||||||
| 10 | and Economic Opportunity Office of Business Development and | ||||||
| 11 | the Office of Regional Economic Development and returned to | ||||||
| 12 | Legislative Affairs as an Administrative Assistant II, a | ||||||
| 13 | position she held until her retirement, all the while being | ||||||
| 14 | known as a helping hand to many within the department; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Jane Voss tirelessly | ||||||
| 16 | managed a wide variety of responsibilities across | ||||||
| 17 | cross-functional teams within the department, while going | ||||||
| 18 | above and beyond for Illinoisans; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Jane Voss was typically one of the finest | ||||||
| 20 | employees in the department; her ability to genuinely connect | ||||||
| 21 | with others, listen with purpose and compassion, and seek | ||||||
| 22 | solutions has served her and the department well in every | ||||||

| 1 | position in which she has served; she was often among the first | ||||||
| 2 | to arrive in the office every morning and worked extended | ||||||
| 3 | hours to prepare for the busy days that followed; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, A loving mother to her two children, Jane Voss is | ||||||
| 5 | also a proud grandmother who often enjoys baking and crafting | ||||||
| 6 | with her grandchildren and is a constant source of love and | ||||||
| 7 | support to her husband, Arwin Voss; she loves working in the | ||||||
| 8 | yard, gardening, and farming; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Jane Voss's hard work and devotion to those | ||||||
| 10 | around her helped to make all the work of the Department of | ||||||
| 11 | Commerce and Economic Opportunity possible, and she will be | ||||||
| 12 | fondly remembered by all to whom she has been a friend, a | ||||||
| 13 | mentor, a caretaker, and a source of joy; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 15 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 16 | we congratulate Jane Voss on her retirement, thank her for her | ||||||
| 17 | many years of committed service to Department of Commerce and | ||||||
| 18 | Economic Opportunity Office and the people of the State of | ||||||
| 19 | Illinois, and wish her many happy and healthy retirement | ||||||
| 20 | years; and be it further
| ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 22 | presented to Jane Voss as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
