| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Western DuPage | ||||||
| 4 | Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) Windy City Warriors for | ||||||
| 5 | winning the 2012 IHSA Wheelchair Basketball Championship | ||||||
| 6 | Tournament and for their 8th place finish at the National | ||||||
| 7 | Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) Championship | ||||||
| 8 | Tournament; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The WDSRA Windy City Warriors is a team comprised | ||||||
| 10 | of players from around Chicago's western suburbs; the team is | ||||||
| 11 | sponsored by the Western DuPage Special Recreation | ||||||
| 12 | Association; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, After dominating the 2012 IHSA Wheelchair | ||||||
| 14 | Basketball Championship Tournament with a 6-0 record, the Windy | ||||||
| 15 | City Warriors traveled to Colorado Springs, Colorado to compete | ||||||
| 16 | in the varsity bracket of the national tournament on March | ||||||
| 17 | 22-24, 2012; facing some of the best teams in the nation, the | ||||||
| 18 | team placed 8th overall out of 32 teams; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, The Windy City Warriors have won an unprecedented | ||||||
| 20 | 7 State championships, having won the State title in the | ||||||
| 21 | 2002-2003, 2005-2006, 2006-2007, 2008-2009, 2009-2010, | ||||||
| 22 | 2010-2011, and 2011-2012 seasons; and

| 2 | Chapman, Blake Harmet, Justin Harrison, Matt Molenkamp, Chris | ||||||

| 4 | Kyle Gribble, Mary Kate Callahan, Jessica Lindsay, Kyle | ||||||
| 5 | Picchetti, and Dan Dye; the team's coaches are Kevin Hosea and | ||||||
| 6 | William Johnson; and

| 7 | WHEREAS, The members of the Windy City Warriors serve as | ||||||
| 8 | models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people | ||||||
| 9 | of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 11 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 12 | we congratulate the Western DuPage Special Recreation | ||||||
| 13 | Association (WDSRA) Windy City Warriors for winning the 2012 | ||||||
| 14 | IHSA Wheelchair Basketball Championship Tournament and their | ||||||
| 15 | wonderful performance at the NWBA Championship Tournament and | ||||||
| 16 | wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be | ||||||
