| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Gavin Christensen on | ||||||
| 4 | achieving the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of | ||||||
| 5 | America; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Gavin Christensen joined the Cub Scouts as a Tiger | ||||||
| 7 | with Pack 290 in 2007; he completed Cub Scouts and then crossed | ||||||
| 8 | over to Boy Scouts in 2012; he was a member of Troop 198 from | ||||||
| 9 | 2013 until it disbanded in 2016; he then joined Troop 392 and | ||||||
| 10 | was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout on January 10, 2018; he is | ||||||
| 11 | a senior at Schaumburg High School, where he plays the | ||||||
| 12 | sousaphone in the marching band and the tuba in the wind | ||||||
| 13 | symphony; he plans to pursue a career following his passion for | ||||||
| 14 | paleontology or as a science educator and attend Harper College | ||||||
| 15 | initially; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Gavin Christensen's Eagle Scout project was | ||||||
| 17 | completed at Church of the Cross, where he built two planting | ||||||
| 18 | areas and filled them with perennials; he approached the Church | ||||||
| 19 | of the Cross in gratitude for their hosting Troop 198 for many | ||||||
| 20 | years; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Through his dedication and hard work, Gavin | ||||||
| 22 | Christensen has demonstrated that he lives by the principles of | ||||||

| 1 | the Scout Oath and Law in his daily life, and that he has | ||||||
| 2 | completed his Eagle Service Project, which by Scout regulations | ||||||
| 3 | is required to be of significant value to the community; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Gavin Christensen sets a fine example for his | ||||||
| 5 | peers and friends through his leadership, hard work, and | ||||||
| 6 | commitment; therefore, be it

| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 8 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 9 | congratulate Gavin Christensen on achieving the rank of Eagle | ||||||
| 10 | Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, and we commend his | ||||||
| 11 | dedication and determination in achieving this most | ||||||
| 12 | prestigious of scouting awards; and be it further
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 14 | presented to Gavin Christensen as an expression of our esteem | ||||||
