| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the East Dubuque Lions | ||||||
| 4 | Club on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of its founding on | ||||||
| 5 | June 22, 2026; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The East Dubuque Lions Club has embodied the | ||||||
| 7 | organization's motto, "We Serve", for nearly a century since | ||||||
| 8 | it was chartered on June 22, 1936; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The East Dubuque Lions Club has dedicated | ||||||
| 10 | thousands of volunteer hours to projects that strengthen the | ||||||
| 11 | community, including providing health and vision screenings | ||||||
| 12 | for elementary students, hosting the annual Easter egg hunt, | ||||||
| 13 | and operating the East Dubuque Food Pantry; and | ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, The East Dubuque Lions Club has raised funds | ||||||
| 15 | through sponsorships, donations, and efforts such as the | ||||||
| 16 | Mother's Day flower sale and annual chili cook-off to support | ||||||
| 17 | organizations and events throughout Jo Daviess County, | ||||||
| 18 | including the East Dubuque Booster Club, the East Dubuque | ||||||
| 19 | District Library Foundation, and the annual Thanksgiving | ||||||
| 20 | dinner; it has also awarded more than $275,000 in scholarships | ||||||
| 21 | to high school seniors; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, In recognition of 90 years of service to the | ||||||
| 2 | citizens of East Dubuque and Jo Daviess County, the East | ||||||
| 3 | Dubuque Lions Club was honored with a proclamation from the | ||||||
| 4 | East Dubuque City Council celebrating the compassion, | ||||||
| 5 | generosity, and civic leadership of its members; therefore, be | ||||||
| 6 | it | ||||||
| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 8 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 9 | we congratulate the East Dubuque Lions Club on its 90th | ||||||
| 10 | anniversary, and we wish the organization many more years of | ||||||
| 11 | life-changing service in its community; and be it further | ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 13 | presented to the East Dubuque Lions Club as a symbol of our | ||||||
| 14 | esteem and respect. | ||||||
