2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Chanel | ||||||
4 | Renee Wilson, who passed away on November 2, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Chanel Wilson was born to Sylvia (Price) and | ||||||
6 | Dennis Wilson in Naperville on October 15, 1997; committing to | ||||||
7 | her faith at an early age, she attended Aurora Christian | ||||||
8 | School and graduated from Aurora Central Catholic High School; | ||||||
9 | she earned a scholarship to Creighton University in Omaha, | ||||||
10 | Nebraska and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in | ||||||
11 | Emergency Medical Services; shortly after graduating from | ||||||
12 | Creighton, she earned her National EMS Certification as a | ||||||
13 | paramedic; and

14 | WHEREAS, Chanel Wilson began working for | ||||||
15 | Delnor-Northwestern Hospital in Geneva in the fall of 2021; | ||||||
16 | she enjoyed working as an Emergency Medical Technician in the | ||||||
17 | Emergency Room, as she loved her job and colleagues; at the | ||||||
18 | time of her passing, she was planning to return to school to | ||||||
19 | pursue a degree in nursing; and

20 | WHEREAS, Chanel Wilson loved adventure and new | ||||||
21 | experiences; she enjoyed doing things outdoors and had visited | ||||||
22 | Alaska and Colorado; she enjoyed riding dirt-bikes with her |

1 | dad, playing guitar, all kinds of sports, and photography; she | ||||||
2 | had a loving and giving spirit and would go out of her way to | ||||||
3 | help others; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Chanel Wilson was preceded in death by her older | ||||||
5 | sister, Cherisse Wilson; her grandparents; and her aunts, | ||||||
6 | Lauta (Alvin) Joyner (Alvin) and Carmelita Price; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Chanel Wilson is survived by her parents; her | ||||||
8 | sisters, Chelsea Wilson (fiancée Kenneth Miller) and Tiana | ||||||
9 | Ashley; her nephews, Paul and Josiah Amos; her niece, Amor | ||||||
10 | Amos; her cousins, Kasmirah (Derick) Scarbrough, Lyden Joyner, | ||||||
11 | Koah Scarbrough, Andrea (Timothy) Harris, and Gregory Mines; | ||||||
12 | her aunt, Pamela Mines; her uncles, Alvin Joyner and Michael | ||||||
13 | Wilson; her great-aunt, Aunt Dorothy; and a host of other | ||||||
14 | family and friends; therefore, be it

15 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
16 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
17 | we mourn the passing of
Chanel Renee Wilson and extend our | ||||||
18 | sincere
condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
19 | and loved
her; and be it further

20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| ||||||
21 | presented to the family of Chanel Wilson as an expression of
| ||||||
