| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to honor our colleague, State | ||||||
| 4 | Representative Jenn Ladisch-Douglass, on her esteemed service | ||||||
| 5 | as a member of the Illinois General Assembly and thank her for | ||||||
| 6 | her dedication to the State and her community; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass was born outside of | ||||||
| 8 | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; she attended the University of | ||||||
| 9 | Pittsburgh, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with | ||||||
| 10 | honors for her double major in anthropology and classical | ||||||
| 11 | civilization with a minor in political science before earning | ||||||
| 12 | her Juris Doctor; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass moved to Elmhurst with her | ||||||
| 14 | husband in 2004, where she practiced law before founding her | ||||||
| 15 | own firm, Douglass P.C. in 2011; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass practiced law for more than | ||||||
| 17 | 20 years before announcing in 2022 that she would run to | ||||||
| 18 | represent the people of the 45th District in the Illinois | ||||||
| 19 | General Assembly; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass first entered state | ||||||
| 21 | government as a citizen advocate, drawing on her own | ||||||

| 1 | experience as someone living with type 1 diabetes to advocate | ||||||
| 2 | for legislation controlling the cost of insulin; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, While serving in the House, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass | ||||||
| 4 | passed the very legislation that she championed as a citizen | ||||||
| 5 | advocate, creating a new law capping the cost of a 30-day | ||||||
| 6 | supply of insulin at $35; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass has served with distinction | ||||||
| 8 | as a member of the Small Business, Tech Innovation Committee, | ||||||
| 9 | the Energy & Environment Committee, the Insurance Committee, | ||||||
| 10 | the Public Utilities Committee, the Judiciary-Civil Committee, | ||||||
| 11 | the Family Law & Probate Subcommittee, the Appropriations, | ||||||
| 12 | Health & Human Services Committee, and the Appropriations, | ||||||
| 13 | Public Safety Committee and as Sub Co-Chairperson of the | ||||||
| 14 | Violence Reduction & Prevention Subcommittee; therefore, be it

| 16 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 17 | we congratulate Representative Jenn Ladisch-Douglass on her | ||||||
