| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Debra Ward-Mitchell on | ||||||
| 4 | the occasion of being named by the National Education | ||||||
| 5 | Association as the Education Support Professional of the Year | ||||||
| 6 | for 2022; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Debra Ward-Mitchell is a strong advocate for | ||||||
| 8 | Education Support Professionals, ensuring that they know their | ||||||
| 9 | value and worth and that the rest of the community recognizes | ||||||
| 10 | their contributions; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Debra Ward-Mitchell has served Thornton Township | ||||||
| 12 | High School District 205 for 38 years; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Debra Ward-Mitchell has worked as a paraeducator | ||||||
| 14 | in Thornton Township High School District 205 for 20 years, | ||||||
| 15 | serving students with behavioral disorders and helping them | ||||||
| 16 | succeed; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Debra Ward-Mitchell has worked tirelessly to keep | ||||||
| 18 | vulnerable students on track for graduation; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Debra Ward-Mitchell is an assistant director at | ||||||
| 20 | the Infant Care Center in District 205, where she provides | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | services for teen parents; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Debra Ward-Mitchell is an outstanding union | ||||||
| 3 | member, a passionate student advocate, and a powerful voice | ||||||
| 4 | for Education Support Professionals; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 6 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 7 | we congratulate Debra Ward-Mitchell on being named the 2022 | ||||||
| 8 | Education Support Professional of the Year by the National | ||||||
| 9 | Education Association, and we wish her many years of continued | ||||||
| 10 | advocacy and service; and be it further
