| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Vic Boblett on his | ||||||
| 4 | retirement as Head Football Coach at Rock Island High School; | ||||||
| 5 | and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, He has spent 36 years in coaching, 25 as a head | ||||||
| 7 | coach and 21 years as coach at Rock Island, with his teams | ||||||
| 8 | winning a total of 206 games; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, He is a graduate of J.D. Darnall High School in | ||||||
| 10 | Geneseo; he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Education | ||||||
| 11 | and his Masters degree in Education from the University of | ||||||
| 12 | Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, He began coaching at Rock Island High School in | ||||||
| 14 | 1991; he led the Rocks to 11 Western Big Six Conference titles, | ||||||
| 15 | 16 State playoff appearances, and 3 State final four | ||||||
| 16 | appearances, including a spot in the 1997 State championship | ||||||
| 17 | game; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, His positive influence is noted with his creation | ||||||
| 19 | of the "Little Rocks", a football program for fifth and sixth | ||||||
| 20 | grade youth; the 7-on-7 summer football program, an offshoot of | ||||||
| 21 | the "Little Rocks' program, now serves a dozen area schools; he | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | also organized and manages the Fellowship of Christian Athletes | ||||||
| 2 | program at Rock Island High School and has personally funded | ||||||
| 3 | several events and activities for the organization; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, He will enjoy his retirement alongside his wife, | ||||||
| 5 | Chris; and his children, Doug and Katie; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 7 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 8 | we congratulate Vic Boblett on his retirement and wish him well | ||||||
| 9 | in his future endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 11 | presented to Vic Boblett as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
