HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Roland
David Wells; and
WHEREAS, Roland Wells was born on November 28, 1959, in
Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Roland Wells attended Corpus Christi and McCosh
Grammar Schools and Simeon High School; after graduation, he
entered the United States Army; while in the Army, he served in
Germany as a paratrooper; and
WHEREAS, After his stint in the Army, Roland Wells returned
home to Chicago and decided to enter the child care industry;
he worked at numerous child care centers throughout the years;
and
WHEREAS, In 1998, Roland Wells moved to California, where
he remained until 2009; while there, he enjoyed swimming,
fishing, and camping; after returning to Chicago, he served as
a volunteer in a campaign office; and
WHEREAS, Roland Wells was lovingly called David by his
family and friends and Roland or Mr. Wells by the staff at

Jesse Brown Hospital; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of
Roland David Wells; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Roland Wells as an expression of our
sympathy.
