| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Eugene | ||||||
| 4 | Stenson, II of Santa Clarita, California, who passed away on | ||||||
| 5 | March 22, 2014; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Eugene Stenson, II was born in Peoria on July 15, | ||||||
| 7 | 1943 to Eugene and Geraldine Stenson; he attended Bradley | ||||||
| 8 | University in Peoria and Southern Illinois University in | ||||||
| 9 | Carbondale; he relocated to California in 1967 and married | ||||||
| 10 | Naomi Pryor in 1990; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Eugene Stenson, II retired in 1997 from the Nissan | ||||||
| 12 | Corporation as the first African-American supervisor of Parts | ||||||
| 13 | Distribution from overseas to dealerships throughout the | ||||||
| 14 | United States; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Gino", Eugene Stenson, | ||||||
| 16 | II enjoyed tennis, jazz, history, cooking, sports, fine-arts, | ||||||
| 17 | hosting cookouts, and making floral arrangements; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Eugene Stenson, II was preceded in death by one | ||||||
| 19 | brother, Clyde Douglas Norvell, and by his parents; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Eugene Stenson, II is survived by his wife of 23 | ||||||

| 1 | years, Naomi; his daughters, Felicia Yvonne Stenson and Minci | ||||||
| 2 | Sekou Stenson; his son, Darin Christopher Pryor; his | ||||||
| 3 | granddaughter, Imani Pryor; his brothers, John (Arie) Stenson | ||||||
| 4 | and Caesar Stenson; his sisters, Mary Frances Turner, Yvonne | ||||||
| 5 | (Rudolph) Booth, and Roberta Marshall; his mother-in-law, | ||||||
| 6 | Carrie B. Barley; his 3 sisters-in-law; his 3 brothers-in-law; | ||||||
| 7 | and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 9 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 10 | we mourn the passing of Eugene Stenson, II, and extend our | ||||||
| 11 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
| 12 | and loved him; and be it further
