| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to honor the life of Charles C. | ||||||
| 4 | Everett; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, He served as a publicly elected Trustee of the | ||||||
| 6 | Prospect Heights Public Library District Trustee for 21 years, | ||||||
| 7 | and served as its President from May 2008 until his passing in | ||||||
| 8 | 2010; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, He was married for 62 years to Ruth L. Everett, | ||||||
| 10 | with whom he raised 3 children; he was a grandfather and a | ||||||
| 11 | great-grandfather; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, He was a graduate of Austin High School; his | ||||||
| 13 | college education was interrupted when he was drafted into the | ||||||
| 14 | United States Army in 1945; he returned from Korea and earned a | ||||||
| 15 | degree in electrical engineering; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, He retired after 38 years from Case International | ||||||
| 17 | Harvester; after his retirement,, he worked as a substitute | ||||||
| 18 | teacher at Maine East High School; he was an Eagle Scout, a Boy | ||||||
| 19 | Scout leader, and proud that his family had 4 Eagle Scouts; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, He served as a Board of Election Judge for | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | approximately 20 years, was an active member of the Medinah | ||||||
| 2 | Shriners, and was a loyal longstanding member of Christ Church | ||||||
| 3 | United Church of Christ in Des Plaines, where he served as a | ||||||
| 4 | member of the Church Council; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS,
In addition to serving his community, he enjoyed | ||||||
| 6 | camping, scouting, golfing, Facebooking with his | ||||||
| 7 | grandchildren, and tinkering in his basement workshop on | ||||||
| 8 | computers and like items; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 10 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 11 | we honor the life of Charles Everett and his legacy in the | ||||||
| 12 | Village of Prospect Heights; and be it further
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 14 | presented to the family of Charles Everett and the Prospect | ||||||
| 15 | Heights Public Library as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
