| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Daniel | ||||||
| 4 | Adalberto Salgado, who passed away on November 11, 2024; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado was born to Herminio Herman | ||||||
| 6 | Salgado and Eloisa Cortes in Blue Island on June 14, 1933; he | ||||||
| 7 | served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to | ||||||
| 8 | 1955; he married Maria Del Carmen Maldonado in 1960; | ||||||
| 9 | throughout his life, he resided in Blue Island and Calumet | ||||||
| 10 | Park, Illinois, Santa Rosa, California, and Morelia, | ||||||
| 11 | Michoacan, Mexico; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado worked as a dedicated steel mill | ||||||
| 13 | worker at ACME Steel for 42 years; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado was a member at Seven Holy | ||||||
| 15 | Founders Church in Calumet Park and St. John the Baptist | ||||||
| 16 | Church in Healdsburg, California; he served as president of | ||||||
| 17 | Latin Americans For America in Calumet Park, and he was an | ||||||
| 18 | active parent volunteer at Eisenhower High School in Blue | ||||||
| 19 | Island; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado enjoyed caring for his and his | ||||||
| 21 | children's properties; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado was known for his laughter and | ||||||
| 2 | zest for life, and he felt most fulfilled when surrounded by | ||||||
| 3 | those he loved; he will be remembered for his legacy of hard | ||||||
| 4 | work, justice, family unity, generosity, and community | ||||||
| 5 | service; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 7 | parents and his siblings, Eucario, Lucia, Alfred, and | ||||||
| 8 | Salvador; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado was the husband of Maria Del | ||||||
| 10 | Carmen; the father of Hector (Sylvia) Garza, Emma Garza, | ||||||
| 11 | Alejandra (Leo) Mendez, Carmen Salgado, Reina (Alfonso) | ||||||
| 12 | Salinas, Daniel (Rhonda) Salgado, Juan (Leticia) Salgado, and | ||||||
| 13 | Lily (Joe) Barrera; the grandfather of 22; the | ||||||
| 14 | great-grandfather of 19; the brother of Herman G. (Esperanza) | ||||||
| 15 | Salgado and Herminio (Antonia) Salgado; and the brother-in-law | ||||||
| 16 | of Leonor Salgado; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 18 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 19 | we mourn the passing of Daniel Adalberto Salgado and extend | ||||||
| 20 | our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who | ||||||
| 21 | knew and loved him; and be it further
