| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Raymond | ||||||
| 4 | Card of Waukegan, who passed away on March 24, 2014; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Raymond Card grew up on a farm in Lake County and | ||||||
| 6 | was a longtime resident of Waukegan; he graduated from | ||||||
| 7 | Grayslake Community High School in the early 1950s; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Raymond Card was a member of the Lake County | ||||||
| 9 | Republican Federation's Board of Governors and a longtime | ||||||
| 10 | volunteer for the Lake County Republican Federation; he was | ||||||
| 11 | also involved in countless activities for the Republican Party | ||||||
| 12 | for decades, from mailing Spring Gala invitations to driving | ||||||
| 13 | the Republican trailer in summer parades; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Raymond Card was the recipient of many honors | ||||||
| 15 | throughout his life, including the Robert J. Milton Award by | ||||||
| 16 | the Lake County Republican Federation; he also received a | ||||||
| 17 | special Lifetime Achievement award from the Lake County | ||||||
| 18 | Republican Federation at its 51st annual Spring Gala in | ||||||
| 19 | recognition of his work for the organization; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 21 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||

| 1 | we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 2 | Raymond Card; and be it further
| ||||||
| 3 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 4 | presented to the family of Raymond Card as an expression of our | ||||||
| 5 | sympathy.
