HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives wish to congratulate Caroleann Gallagher on
her appointment as president of the Women's Bar Association of
Illinois; and
WHEREAS, The Women's Bar Association of Illinois displays
and practices a commitment to community, mentorship, and
collective support of women in the legal profession and women
everywhere who appreciate the impact of strength in advocacy;
and
WHEREAS, Caroleann Gallagher began her career in the legal
profession upon receiving her law degree from the National
University of Ireland, Galway and was admitted as a solicitor
in Ireland in 2004; and
WHEREAS, Caroleann Gallagher immigrated to Chicago in 2009
to begin legal practice in the United States, becoming an
active member of the Women's Bar Association of Illinois in
2011; and
WHEREAS, In her service with the Women's Bar Association
of Illinois, Caroleann Gallagher has served on various
committees and on the Board of Directors with a focus on

initiatives supporting mentorship, professional development,
and community outreach for women across the State; and
WHEREAS, Caroleann Gallagher's service extends well beyond
the courtroom and includes involvement in the Irish American
community, where she has held positions with the Executive
Committee of Ireland Network and as a founding member of
Women's Ireland Network Chicago, which was established to
bolster and connect women professionals; and
WHEREAS, Caroleann Gallagher has given back substantially
to students at her former high school in Donegal, Ireland with
the establishment of the annually awarded Coogan Gallagher
Scholarship in 2022; and
WHEREAS, Caroleann Gallagher's excellence in the legal
profession and substantial community involvement complement
her orientation to detail, yielding success in compassionate
advocacy for Illinoisans; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
we congratulate Caroleann Gallagher on her appointment as
president of the Women's Bar Association of Illinois; and be
it further
