| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Rock Valley | ||||||
| 4 | College men's basketball team, the Golden Eagles, on winning | ||||||
| 5 | the 2014 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) | ||||||
| 6 | national championship; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, The Golden Eagles were nationally ranked for much | ||||||
| 8 | of the season and claimed their first ever championship with | ||||||
| 9 | wins over Nassau Community College (NY), Brookdale Community | ||||||
| 10 | College (NJ), and Caldwell College (NC); and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, The 2013-2014 season saw the Golden Eagles compile | ||||||
| 12 | a record of 30 wins and 5 losses, the most wins in the men's | ||||||
| 13 | basketball program's history; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Head Coach Craig Doty, in his first season as the | ||||||
| 15 | men's head basketball coach at Rock Valley College in | ||||||
| 16 | 2012-2013, led his team to its first appearance in the NJCAA | ||||||
| 17 | tournament in over a decade and only 2nd over all, achieving a | ||||||
| 18 | 7th place finish; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, The Golden Eagles are DeSean Miller, LT Davis, | ||||||
| 20 | Frank Cimino, Tairhe Turner, Darius Brown, Jared Mayes, | ||||||
| 21 | DeOntray Austin, Keenan Franklin, Brandt Voiles, Jack | ||||||

| 1 | Harrison, Sam Harrison, and Ben Grygiel; the assistant coaches | ||||||
| 2 | are Evan Lavery and Steve Goers; the trainer is Shannon Jones; | ||||||
