| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Robert Heer of | ||||||
| 4 | Wheeling on the occasion of his retirement after 33 years of | ||||||
| 5 | dedicated service with the Buffalo Grove Police Department; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Robert Heer attended Palatine High School; he | ||||||
| 7 | enlisted as a community service officer in Buffalo Grove before | ||||||
| 8 | he graduated from high school; he later spent a year working | ||||||
| 9 | for the Gurnee Police Department until a position opened up in | ||||||
| 10 | Buffalo Grove; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Robert Heer began his career with the Buffalo | ||||||
| 12 | Grove Police Department in the patrol division, but quickly | ||||||
| 13 | progressed into more fulfilling units where he felt he could | ||||||
| 14 | make a difference in people's lives; he subsequently served in | ||||||
| 15 | the crime prevention unit, which establishes community | ||||||
| 16 | relations in meeting the public and spreading the police | ||||||
| 17 | department's message, before serving 2 terms as an officer | ||||||
| 18 | liaison at Buffalo Grove High School from 1996 to 1998 and from | ||||||
| 19 | 2006 to 2011; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Robert Heer received the Buffalo Grove Police | ||||||
| 21 | Department's "Officer of the Year" award in 1999 in recognition | ||||||
| 22 | of his service to the community; he has also received numerous | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | unit citations, honorable mentions, and letters of | ||||||
| 2 | appreciation from his community; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Robert Heer has served as an elected official on | ||||||
| 4 | the Wheeling Village Board since 1995; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Robert Heer and his loving wife of 30 years, | ||||||
| 6 | Cathy, have 3 children; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Robert Heer serves as a model of hard work, | ||||||
| 8 | integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of | ||||||
| 9 | Illinois; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 11 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 12 | we congratulate Robert Heer on the occasion of his retirement | ||||||
| 13 | and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it | ||||||
| 14 | further
