| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate both the seventh and | ||||||
| 4 | eighth grade girls volleyball teams from Hartsburg-Emden | ||||||
| 5 | Junior High School, the Lady Stags, on winning both the | ||||||
| 6 | Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Class 7-1A and | ||||||
| 7 | 8-1A State Championships respectively; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, The seventh grade Lady Stags won their third state | ||||||
| 9 | championship in three years by defeating Grayville in two sets | ||||||
| 10 | by a score of 25-13 and 25-15 in Decatur on March 10, 2018; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, The eighth grade Lady Stags won their seventh | ||||||
| 12 | state championship in a row and also defeated Grayville in two | ||||||
| 13 | sets with a score of 25-23 and 25-23 in Moweaqua on March 17, | ||||||
| 14 | 2018; and

| 15 | WHEREAS, Both Lady Stags teams are led by Head Coach | ||||||
| 16 | Jennifer Hayes, who has coached at the junior high level for 25 | ||||||
| 17 | years and has won 28 titles in junior high and one state title | ||||||
| 18 | in high school; Assistant Coaches are Sami Pershal, Jordan | ||||||
| 19 | Detmers, Ivy Merz, and Abby Horebort; the Manager is Morgan | ||||||
| 20 | Riggs; and

| 11 | congratulate both the seventh and eighth grade girls volleyball | ||||||
| 12 | teams from Hartsburg-Emden on winning their respective | ||||||
| 13 | Illinois Elementary School Association Class 7-1A and 8-1A | ||||||
| 14 | State Championships, and we admire their extensive record of | ||||||
| 15 | success and hope it continues far into the future; and be it | ||||||
| 16 | further

| 17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 18 | presented to the Lady Stags and their coaches as a symbol of | ||||||
| 19 | our esteem and respect.
