| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the | ||||||
| 4 | Northern Illinois Regional Group of the Early Ford V-8 Club on | ||||||
| 5 | the 45th anniversary of the Club; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The goal of the Early Ford V-8 Club is educating | ||||||
| 7 | others on the history of the early Ford V-8 as well as the | ||||||
| 8 | preservation of the car; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, As part of its activities, the Club holds an | ||||||
| 10 | annual veterans lunch to honor the veterans within the group; | ||||||
| 11 | members have made trips to the Manteno Veterans Home in their | ||||||
| 12 | antique vehicles; and they hold an annual Poker Run to benefit | ||||||
| 13 | the American Cancer Society; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, The Club has supported the restoration of the | ||||||
| 15 | Desert Rat B-17 in Marengo; members have driven their cars to | ||||||
| 16 | the Turners Club annual St. Patrick's Day lunch; and they | ||||||
| 17 | attend national events to have their cars judged for proper | ||||||
| 18 | restoration; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, The Club does driving tours, attends charity | ||||||
| 20 | Concours d'Elegence shows, visits museums and historical | ||||||
| 21 | societies, and has events for members only; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, The Club holds monthly meetings that include a | ||||||
| 2 | "tech talk" to help the members with their vehicle | ||||||
| 3 | restorations; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 5 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 6 | we congratulate the members of the Northern Illinois Regional | ||||||
| 7 | Group of the Early Ford V-8 Club and wish them well in their | ||||||
| 8 | future endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 10 | presented to the members of the Northern Illinois Regional | ||||||
| 11 | Group of the Early Ford V-8 Club as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
| 12 | esteem.
