| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate and celebrate 19th | ||||||
| 4 | Circuit Judge George Bridges on the occasion of his retirement | ||||||
| 5 | on January 25, 2016; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Judge George Bridges has been on the bench since | ||||||
| 7 | March of 1995; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Judge George Bridges earned a bachelor's degree | ||||||
| 9 | with honors in 1982 from National Lewis University in Evanston | ||||||
| 10 | and received his law degree in 1987 from Chicago-Kent College | ||||||
| 11 | of Law; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Judge George Bridges served as Chief of the | ||||||
| 13 | Waukegan Police Department before being appointed to serve as | ||||||
| 14 | an Associate Judge; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Judge George Bridges was appointed Circuit Judge | ||||||
| 16 | in 2006; he also served as a Lake County Assistant State's | ||||||
| 17 | Attorney; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Judge George Bridges serves as an adjunct | ||||||
| 19 | instructor for the Columbia College of Missouri and the College | ||||||
| 20 | of Lake County; he is also a co-chair of the Illinois Supreme | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Court Seminar Series Committee and a member of the Supreme | ||||||
| 2 | Court Committee on Education; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Judge George Bridges will retire to pursue other | ||||||
| 4 | interests after proudly serving in the 19th Judicial Circuit | ||||||
| 5 | for more than 20 years; his knowledge, wisdom, trial expertise, | ||||||
| 6 | and management skills will be difficult to replace and he will | ||||||
| 7 | truly be missed; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 9 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 10 | thank and congratulate 19th Circuit Court Judge George Bridges | ||||||
| 11 | for his many years of service and wish him all the best in his | ||||||
| 12 | future endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 14 | presented to Judge George Bridges as an expression of our | ||||||
| 15 | congratulations and appreciation for a job well done.
