| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the Jacksonville High | ||||||
4 | School dance team, the J'ettes, on their accomplishments at the | ||||||
5 | IHSA State Finals tournament; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, The J'ettes perform at basketball games, parades, | ||||||
7 | community events, camps, and other events throughout the year; | ||||||
8 | they also compete in both the Illinois High School Association | ||||||
9 | (IHSA) Competitive Dance State Series and at the Illinois Drill | ||||||
10 | Team Association (IDTA) regional and state competitions; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams competed | ||||||
12 | in the IDTA State Series at three regional competitions held at | ||||||
13 | Belleville East, Edwardsville, and Highland; the teams | ||||||
14 | qualified all four of their routines and advanced to State on | ||||||
15 | their first try; and

16 | WHEREAS, On February 10, 2018, they competed at the IDTA | ||||||
17 | State Contest in Springfield, where they earned State Titles in | ||||||
18 | five different categories; the Junior Varsity team won first | ||||||
19 | place in the Lyrical and Pom Dance categories; they also won | ||||||
20 | the High Point Award for the highest-scoring routine in the JV | ||||||
21 | Division and the Grand Champion title for the highest | ||||||
22 | cumulative points in the JV division; the Varsity team won |

1 | first place in the Pom Dance and Hip Hop categories; they were | ||||||
2 | also Grand Champion Runner-Ups in the AA Division; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, The J'ettes are coached by Tiffany Hickox, | ||||||
4 | Stephanie Bezler, Katie Armstrong, and Sara Gray; the team's | ||||||
5 | manager is Ariana Swift; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, The J'ettes Varsity Team includes Captains Emilie | ||||||
7 | Bezler and Camri Middleton; Squad Leaders are Anna Bezler, | ||||||
8 | Jordan Brockhouse, Sydney Hembrough, Sarah May, and Sara | ||||||
9 | Wilson; Varsity Members are Breanne Kaufmann, Jocelyn Fuhr, | ||||||
10 | Regan Davis, Grayson Moore, Olivia Pine, Chloe Burrus, Ava | ||||||
11 | Lahey, Kat Fuhr, Layne Rogers, and Paige Hadden; the Junior | ||||||
12 | Varsity Team consists of Gabbi Meehan, Paige Scaman, Dani | ||||||
13 | Dillard, Esha Kulkarni, Millie Pine, Amelia Symons, Grace | ||||||
14 | Turner, Claire Van Aken, Julianne Wilson, and Paiten Wilson; | ||||||
15 | and

16 | WHEREAS, The J'ettes serve as models of hard work, | ||||||
17 | integrity, and dedication for the people of the State; | ||||||
18 | therefore, be it

19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
20 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
21 | congratulate the Jacksonville High School dance team, the | ||||||
22 | J'ettes, on their accomplishments at the IHSA State Finals |
