| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to hear of the passing of Antoine | ||||||
| 4 | D. "Tony" Haddad of Peoria and wish to honor his life and pay | ||||||
| 5 | tribute to an icon of the community; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Tony Haddad was born on May 12, 1937 in Lebanon; | ||||||
| 7 | his parents were Dikran and Marie (nee Sabou) Haddad; he | ||||||
| 8 | emigrated from Lebanon to the United States in 1977 with his | ||||||
| 9 | wife, Loreece, his children, and his mother-in-law; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Tony Haddad was the determined and hard-working | ||||||
| 11 | business owner of Haddad's Restaurant on Main Street; he also | ||||||
| 12 | ran a pushcart outside of the Peoria County Courthouse, which | ||||||
| 13 | has been visited by many people in the area; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Tony Haddad was an active member of the community | ||||||
| 15 | who was known for his loving attitude and gracious generosity; | ||||||
| 16 | and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Tony Haddad's passing has been felt throughout the | ||||||
| 18 | area from people who had a chance to meet this outstanding | ||||||
| 19 | gentleman; they will remember his great food and great | ||||||
| 20 | personality for many years to come; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, Tony Haddad is survived by his wife, Loreece; his | ||||||
| 2 | sons, John (Jill) Haddad, Gabe (Nidal) Haddad, Joseph (Giselle) | ||||||
| 3 | Haddad, and Nicola (Shirley) Haddad; his daughters, Marie | ||||||
| 4 | Batrouni and Rita (Andrew) Speck; his 18 grandchildren; and his | ||||||
| 5 | 5 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 7 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 8 | mourn the passing of Antoine D. "Tony" Haddad and extend our | ||||||
| 9 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all of those | ||||||
| 10 | who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 12 | presented to the family of Tony Haddad as an expression of our | ||||||
| 13 | respect and deepest sympathies.
