| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the Arcola High School | ||||||
| 4 | Purple Riders on winning the 2015 Illinois High School | ||||||
| 5 | Association (IHSA) Class 1A State Championship in football; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, This is the Purple Rider's 4th Class 1A State | ||||||
| 7 | Championship; they previously won the championship in 1978, | ||||||
| 8 | 1985, and 1988; they finished 2nd in 1977, 1991, and 1995; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, On their way to the championship, the Purple | ||||||
| 10 | Riders outscored opponents 714, the third most points in IHSA | ||||||
| 11 | history, to 78; they had a running clock against 12 of their 14 | ||||||
| 12 | opponents; averaged 51 points per game, 7th most in IHSA | ||||||
| 13 | history; scored 97 touchdowns, 3rd most in IHSA history, with | ||||||
| 14 | 66 of those being rushing touchdowns, 7th most in IHSA history; | ||||||
| 15 | and intercepted the ball 29 times, 8th most in IHSA history; | ||||||
| 16 | they had 5,396 yards of offense on the season and held | ||||||
| 17 | opponents to 1,329 yards; and

| 18 | WHEREAS, The Purple Riders have the 3rd most wins in | ||||||
| 19 | football in the State; and

| 12 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 13 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 14 | congratulate the Arcola High School Purple Riders on winning | ||||||
| 15 | the 2015 Illinois High School Association Class 1A State | ||||||
| 16 | Championship in football and we wish them many more years of | ||||||
| 17 | success; and be it further

| 18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
