| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Philip | ||||||
| 4 | Russell Foley Jr., former Chief of the Loves Park Fire | ||||||
| 5 | Department, who passed away on May 23, 2024; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Chief Foley was born to Frida and Philip Foley in | ||||||
| 7 | Wyoming on November 2, 1944; he married Margie Foley on July 9, | ||||||
| 8 | 2018; he was a resident of Machesney Park; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Chief Foley served the Loves Park Fire Department | ||||||
| 10 | for 53 years; during his tenure, he served as fire chief for 37 | ||||||
| 11 | years; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Chief Foley was dedicated to serving his | ||||||
| 13 | community through the fire department, spending the majority | ||||||
| 14 | of his time helping others; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Chief Foley enjoyed taking care of his yard; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Chief Foley was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
| 17 | and his nephew, Walt Foley Jr.; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Chief Foley is survived by his wife, Margie; his | ||||||
| 19 | children, Philip Foley III, Tanya Foltz, and Michael Leavens; | ||||||

| 1 | four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his brother, | ||||||
| 2 | Walt Foley; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

| 3 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 4 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 5 | we mourn the passing of Philip Russell Foley Jr., former Chief | ||||||
| 6 | of the Loves Park Fire Department, and extend our sincere | ||||||
| 7 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
