| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Chandra | ||||||
| 4 | Dion Battle Blanks, who passed away on April 15, 2022; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Chandra Blanks was born to Reverend Leroy Battle | ||||||
| 6 | and Helen Battle in Bellwood on November 23, 1971; she | ||||||
| 7 | committed to her faith at an early age and was baptized at | ||||||
| 8 | Garfield Park Baptist Church in Chicago; she attended Proviso | ||||||
| 9 | High School, where she excelled at playing the clarinet in | ||||||
| 10 | band and singing in the gospel choir, and graduated in 1989; | ||||||
| 11 | she was listed in the 1987-1988 edition of Who's Who Among | ||||||
| 12 | American High School Students; she graduated from Michigan | ||||||
| 13 | State University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in | ||||||
| 14 | Marketing; she married Marq Blanks, and they had three | ||||||
| 15 | children together; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Chandra Blanks worked in various positions for an | ||||||
| 17 | established insurance company for over 28 years and was | ||||||
| 18 | recognized many times for her excellence; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Chandra Blanks was a faithful and devoted member | ||||||
| 20 | of New Life Ambassadors for Christ Christian Church; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Chandra Blanks enjoyed volunteering in her | ||||||

| 1 | community, traveling, movies, and spending time with her | ||||||
| 2 | children; she especially loved chocolate; she had a contagious | ||||||
| 3 | laugh and made friends everywhere she went; she was a loving | ||||||
| 4 | and devoted mother, an excellent big sister, a loyal daughter, | ||||||
| 5 | a fun-loving cousin, and a thoughtful friend and colleague; | ||||||
| 6 | and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Chandra Blanks is survived by her parents; her | ||||||
| 8 | children, Quinton, Joslyn, and Mia Blanks; her sister, | ||||||
| 9 | Shaquita Battle; her aunts and uncles; her cousins; and her | ||||||
| 10 | friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 12 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 13 | we mourn the passing of
Chandra Dion Battle Blanks and extend | ||||||
| 14 | our sincere
condolences to her family, friends, and all who | ||||||
| 15 | knew and loved
her; and be it further

| 16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
