| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate David Abraham "Dave" Unes | ||||||
| 4 | and Anna Marie (Joseph) Unes on the occasion of their 50th | ||||||
| 5 | wedding anniversary; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Dave and Marie Unes were each born of Lebanese | ||||||
| 7 | immigrants and raised in humble homes with many siblings; they | ||||||
| 8 | entered courtship in their early twenties and were married at | ||||||
| 9 | St. Mark's Church in Peoria on November 8, 1969; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Dave and Marie Unes became parents to two | ||||||
| 11 | children, Diana Lynn Tigerlily and Michael David Unes, and | ||||||
| 12 | grandparents to five grandchildren, Raynah Genevieve | ||||||
| 13 | Unes-Reid, Meghan Marie Unes, Nathan Michael Unes, Michelle | ||||||
| 14 | Rosemary Unes, and Nicholas David Unes; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Dave and Marie Unes' children and grandchildren | ||||||
| 16 | are their pride and joy, inspiring them to live a life of | ||||||
| 17 | sacrifice and hard work to be able to send their children to | ||||||
| 18 | college; they instilled in their children the qualities of | ||||||
| 19 | self-discipline, motivation, and compassion; they continue to | ||||||
| 20 | be exemplary role models of commitment, faith, and love for | ||||||
| 21 | their grandchildren; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, Dave Unes retired from a career as an agent and | ||||||
| 2 | sales manager with the Prudential Insurance Company; Marie Unes | ||||||
| 3 | retired from her career as a self-employed hairdresser and | ||||||
| 4 | later as the manager at B'nai B'rith Apartments; they continue | ||||||
| 5 | working in their joint endeavor as real estate investors, a | ||||||
| 6 | passion they have shared together for nearly 40 years that has | ||||||
| 7 | allowed them to make many friends and assist countless families | ||||||
| 8 | through their boundless generosity, charity, and goodwill; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Dave and Marie Unes renewed their vows for their | ||||||
| 10 | 25th wedding anniversary; they celebrated their 50th wedding | ||||||
| 11 | anniversary by sharing it with their family over a Christmas | ||||||
| 12 | holiday in Rome, Italy in December of 2019; while there, they | ||||||
| 13 | attended mass in St. Peter's Basilica and toured the Vatican, | ||||||
| 14 | the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, and the Basilica of St. | ||||||
| 15 | Francis of Assisi; most notably, they attended Christmas Eve | ||||||
| 16 | Mass led by Pope Francis and witnessed the Pope's inspiring | ||||||
| 17 | Christmas Day Address the next morning with thousands of other | ||||||
| 18 | worshipers in St. Peter's Square; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 20 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 21 | we congratulate David Abraham "Dave" Unes and Anna Marie | ||||||
| 22 | (Joseph) Unes on their 50th wedding anniversary, and we wish | ||||||
| 23 | them many more wonderful years; and be it further
