HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Jamie Yates on the
4occasion of his retirement as principal of Farmingdale
5Elementary School; and
6 WHEREAS, Jamie Yates has served as principal of
7Farmingdale Elementary School for the past 19 years; and
8 WHEREAS, Jamie Yates was raised in Mt. Vernon, graduating
9from Mount Vernon Township High School in 1986; he received
10his Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Eastern
11Illinois University in 1990; he earned his Master of Arts in
12Human Development and Family Studies from the University of
13Illinois Springfield in 1996; and
14 WHEREAS, Jamie Yates began his teaching career at Pleasant
15Plains High School in 1991, where he taught and coached for
16five years; and
17 WHEREAS, Jamie Yates then served as a guidance counselor
18and coach at Williamsville-Sherman Community Unit School
19District #15 for four years, beginning in 1995; and
20 WHEREAS, Jamie Yates returned to Pleasant Plains Community

1Unit School District #8 in 2000, serving as a guidance
2counselor for three years until he was hired as assistant
3principal at Pleasant Plains High School; and
4 WHEREAS, Jamie Yates became principal of Farmingdale
5Elementary School starting in 2005; and
6 WHEREAS, Jamie Yates is the husband of Joni, and they are
7the proud parents of five children, Emily, Marybeth, Johnnie,
8Ellie, and Mollie; therefore, be it
9 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we congratulate Jamie Yates on his retirement as principal of
12Farmingdale Elementary School, and we wish him success in his
13future endeavors; and be it further
