| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Kevin Hartmann on | ||||||
| 4 | his recent heroism that resulted in the life of a young boy | ||||||
| 5 | being saved; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, On November 19, 2009, Kevin Hartmann responded to | ||||||
| 7 | a fire at a home in Elgin; a mother alerted him to her young son | ||||||
| 8 | still being in the residence and Hartmann entered the burning | ||||||
| 9 | structure; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, He found the 2-year-old boy in his highchair with | ||||||
| 11 | smoke above the boy's head; he grabbed the toddler and rushed | ||||||
| 12 | him outside to the waiting arms of a paramedic; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Kevin Hartmann previously served as a police | ||||||
| 14 | officer in Joliet and is credited with administering CPR and | ||||||
| 15 | saving the life of a baby boy who had fallen head first into a | ||||||
| 16 | bucket of Pine Sol and bleach; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Kevin Hartmann was recently honored by the Watch | ||||||
| 18 | City Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1037 for his bravery; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, He has served with the Elgin Fire Department for | ||||||
| 20 | the last two years; therefore, be it

| 1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 2 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 3 | commend Kevin Hartmann for his heroism and bravery; and be it | ||||||
| 4 | further
| ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 6 | presented to Kevin Hartmann as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
| 7 | esteem.
