| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the Mt. Carmel Kiwanis | ||||||
| 4 | Club on their 100th Anniversary; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, The Mt. Carmel Kiwanis Club was founded on July | ||||||
| 6 | 14, 1922; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, The local Mt. Carmel Kiwanis Chapter is | ||||||
| 8 | continuously helping their community and working toward a | ||||||
| 9 | better tomorrow for the children of Wabash County; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Each year, the Mt. Carmel Kiwanis donate funds to | ||||||
| 11 | benefit sports programs and education within their district; | ||||||
| 12 | and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, The Mt. Carmel Kiwanis raised over $100,000 for | ||||||
| 14 | the animal shelter and also donated their time and manpower to | ||||||
| 15 | help build it; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, The Mt. Carmel Kiwanis are known for helping with | ||||||
| 17 | other building projects in the area, including building | ||||||
| 18 | shelter houses in the local city park and completing | ||||||
| 19 | renovations needed along the way; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, The Mt. Carmel Kiwanis host a few fundraisers | ||||||
| 2 | each year to raise money for various projects, including | ||||||
| 3 | Pancake Day, which was founded in 1925 and is an | ||||||
| 4 | all-you-can-eat pancake dinner in October of each year with | ||||||
| 5 | all proceeds dedicated to community projects; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The 100 year celebration of the Mt. Carmel | ||||||
| 7 | Kiwanis Club will be held on July 9, 2022 at the Mt. Carmel | ||||||
| 8 | City Park, and the event will feature "The Kiwanis Krawl", | ||||||
| 9 | food trucks, and snow cones with all the proceeds going to the | ||||||
| 10 | park; therefore, be it

| 11 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 12 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 13 | we congratulate the Mt. Carmel Kiwanis Club on their 100th | ||||||
| 14 | anniversary; and be it further
| ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
| 16 | presented to Mt. Carmel Kiwanis President Ryan Turner as a | ||||||
| 17 | symbol of our respect and esteem.
