2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Illinois native | ||||||
4 | and country music recording artist Brett Eldredge on the | ||||||
5 | release of his new album, "Illinois"; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Brett Eldredge was born and raised in Paris, | ||||||
7 | Illinois; his parents are Robin and Christopher Eldredge; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Brett Eldredge attended Elmhurst College in | ||||||
9 | Elmhurst; after visiting Nashville to see his cousin perform, | ||||||
10 | he transferred to Tennessee State University where he studied | ||||||
11 | country music vocalists such as George Jones, Ray Price, and | ||||||
12 | Vince Gill; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Brett Eldredge co-wrote "I Think I've Had Enough" | ||||||
14 | with country music artist Gary Allan; in 2010, he released his | ||||||
15 | first single, "Raymond", which debuted at Number 52 on the Hot | ||||||
16 | Country Songs chart for the week ending October 16, 2010; and

17 | WHEREAS, Brett Eldredge has had 3 Number 1 singles from his | ||||||
18 | 2013 debut album "Bring You Back": "Don't Ya", "Beat of the | ||||||
19 | Music", and "Mean to Me"; and

20 | WHEREAS, On September 11, 2015, Brett Eldredge released a |

2 | "Illinois"; according to Mr. Eldredge, the song is meant to | ||||||
3 | capture the essence of what home really means; therefore, be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
5 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
6 | congratulate Brett Eldredge on the release of his new album, | ||||||
7 | "Illinois", and honor him for his success in the world of | ||||||
8 | country music and his strong connection to the State of | ||||||
9 | Illinois; and be it further
