| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate R.E. "Rick" Szalach on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his retirement as the Refinery Manager of the Exxon | ||||||
| 5 | Mobil Corporation's Joliet Refinery; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Rick Szalach first joined the Mobil Oil Company in | ||||||
| 7 | Buffalo, New York as a project engineer in May of 1979; he | ||||||
| 8 | subsequently progressed through a number of engineering and | ||||||
| 9 | supervisory positions with the company in Buffalo and Beaumont, | ||||||
| 10 | Texas before being appointed as Assistant Manager at the | ||||||
| 11 | Central Service Maintenance Department at the Paulsboro | ||||||
| 12 | Refinery in 1988; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Rick Szalach served the Mobil Oil Company in | ||||||
| 14 | several capacities; he was named as Maintenance Manager at the | ||||||
| 15 | Paulsboro Refinery in 1994, serving there until his return to | ||||||
| 16 | the Beaumont Refinery as Production Manager in 1997; in 2000, | ||||||
| 17 | he was appointed as Process Manager of Beaumont Refinery, where | ||||||
| 18 | he served until he was selected to serve as the Americas | ||||||
| 19 | Product Optimization Manager of Global Logistics Optimization | ||||||
| 20 | in Fairfax, Virginia; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, In 2005, Rick Szalach was named Refinery Manager | ||||||
| 22 | of the Joliet Refinery; he served in that position until his | ||||||

| 1 | retirement from the Exxon Mobil Corporation; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Rick Szalach is well known for his extensive and | ||||||
| 3 | impressive educational background and his keen business | ||||||
| 4 | acumen; he earned his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical | ||||||
| 5 | Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his | ||||||
| 6 | Master of Science in Engineering and Business Management from | ||||||
| 7 | Lamar University; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Rick Szalach shares this honor with his wife, | ||||||
| 9 | Stephanie, and his daughters; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 11 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 12 | we congratulate R.E. "Rick" Szalach on the occasion of his | ||||||
| 13 | retirement as the Refinery Manager of the Exxon Mobil | ||||||
| 14 | Corporation's Joliet Refinery and wish him the best in all his | ||||||
| 15 | future endeavors; and be it further
