2 | WHEREAS, Donald Trump is currently the frontrunner in the | ||||||
3 | race for the Republican nomination for President of the United | ||||||
4 | States in the 2016 election; and

5 | WHEREAS, Donald Trump has repeatedly made misogynistic, | ||||||
6 | sexist, and derogatory comments towards women; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Donald Trump has repeatedly made offensive and | ||||||
8 | abhorrent comments towards people of Latino descent, Mexican | ||||||
9 | immigrants, and Asians; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Donald Trump is attempting to secure the | ||||||
11 | Republican nomination by demeaning entire groups of people; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, The Republican Party has failed to publicly | ||||||
13 | denounce Donald Trump for his insulting comments; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Ignoring Donald Trump in hopes that he will just | ||||||
15 | fade away is not an adequate response to his inexcusable | ||||||
16 | behavior; therefore, be it

17 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
18 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
19 | call upon the Republican Party to publicly denounce Donald |

3 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||

6 | Representatives, John Boehner, the Chairman of the Republican | ||||||
7 | National Committee, Reince Priebus, and all Republican members | ||||||
8 | of the Illinois Congressional Delegation.
