2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Richard | ||||||
4 | Moore of Chicago, who passed away on August 12, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Richard Moore was born in Louisville, Kentucky on | ||||||
6 | September 14, 1941 to Lillie and Richard Moore; he was raised | ||||||
7 | in Louisville and attended grammar school and high school in | ||||||
8 | Kentucky; he received his Bachelor of Arts from Moorehouse | ||||||
9 | College in Atlanta and attended Governor's State University for | ||||||
10 | his graduate education; he served as a medic during the Vietnam | ||||||
11 | War and married Barbara Moore on October 28, 1969; he resided | ||||||
12 | on the south side of Chicago for 46 years; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Richard Moore worked as a teacher at the Edward | ||||||
14 | Jenner School; he taught language arts and served as a | ||||||
15 | disciplinarian; he also served on many boards across the | ||||||
16 | Chicago community and in the Cabrini Green neighborhood; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Richard Moore is survived by his children, Tonya | ||||||
18 | Byars, Kirk Byars, Monique Moore, and Matthew Moore, and his | ||||||
19 | sister, Vera Moore; therefore, be it

20 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
21 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |

1 | mourn the passing of Richard Moore, and extend our sincere | ||||||
2 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
3 | him; and be it further
