| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Bennie Martin on | ||||||
| 4 | his retirement as the Cook County Executive Law Librarian; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, He was born on May 1, 1946 in Greenville, | ||||||
| 6 | Mississippi; he served in the United States Army; he received a | ||||||
| 7 | Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois and his | ||||||
| 8 | Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law; he | ||||||
| 9 | served as the President of the Black Law Student's Association | ||||||
| 10 | and the Editor of the Black Law Journal; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, He is a member of the Cook County Bar Association | ||||||
| 12 | and the Illinois State Bar Association; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, He has served as the General Counsel for the Human | ||||||
| 14 | Enrichment Developmental Association from 1994 to the present; | ||||||
| 15 | and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, He previously served as a Reference Library at the | ||||||
| 17 | Cook County Law Library from 1967 to 1986; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, He has served as the Executive Law Librarian at | ||||||
| 19 | the Cook County Law Library since 1986 and retired on December | ||||||
| 20 | 31, 2011; therefore, be it

| 1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 2 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 3 | we congratulate Bennie Martin on his retirement and wish him | ||||||
| 4 | the best in his future endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 6 | presented to Bennie Martin as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
| 7 | esteem.
