| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Clarence | ||||||
4 | Todd Taylor of Champaign, who passed away on October 30, 2013; | ||||||
5 | and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Todd Taylor was the accompanist for the Urbana | ||||||
7 | High School choir and was a well-known gospel musician in the | ||||||
8 | community; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Todd Taylor was a master of music and could listen | ||||||
10 | to any song and play it back, whether it was classical, jazz, | ||||||
11 | or gospel; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Todd Taylor directed the choir that sang at the | ||||||
13 | local Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration each year and played | ||||||
14 | for the Black Chorus at the University of Illinois; he also | ||||||
15 | served Salem Baptist Church and Church of the Living God, both | ||||||
16 | of Champaign; he also worked with several other churches and | ||||||
17 | church groups; and

18 | WHEREAS, Todd Taylor was able to make any student feel | ||||||
19 | special, even those who may not have felt included in other | ||||||
20 | parts of high school or who had special needs; therefore, be it

1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
2 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
3 | we mourn the passing of Clarence Todd Taylor and extend our | ||||||
4 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
5 | and loved him; and be it further

6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to the family of Todd Taylor as an expression of our | ||||||
8 | deepest sympathy.
