| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to honor Tadas Kicielinski for his many | ||||||
| 4 | achievements; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Tadas Kicielinski has been an ironworker for more | ||||||
| 6 | than 44 years; as a member of Local No. 392, he has supervised | ||||||
| 7 | many projects as a Foreman, General Foreman, and Project | ||||||
| 8 | Superintendent and has worked as an Apprentice Instructor for 3 | ||||||
| 9 | years; he started out as an Executive Board Member before his | ||||||
| 10 | election to the position of Vice-President of the Local; in | ||||||
| 11 | 1989, he was appointed to serve as a Business Manager, a | ||||||
| 12 | position he was later elected to; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Tadas Kicielinski left the position of Business | ||||||
| 14 | Manager to become the Executive Director of the Southwestern | ||||||
| 15 | Illinois Building and Construction Trades Council, where he | ||||||
| 16 | represented all of the trades and worked diligently to make | ||||||
| 17 | Project Labor Agreements an accepted practice throughout the | ||||||
| 18 | State of Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Tadas Kicielinski has been the recipient of dozens | ||||||
| 20 | of achievement awards, including the Southern Illinois | ||||||
| 21 | University Distinguished Service Award for his efforts in | ||||||
| 22 | establishing apprenticeship programs in East St. Louis and his | ||||||

| 1 | service award for serving on the Ironworkers Labor-Management | ||||||
| 2 | group IMPACT; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, In 2001, Tadas Kicielinski was called to | ||||||
| 4 | Washington, D.C. by General President Joseph Hunt to serve as | ||||||
| 5 | the Executive Assistant to the General President and editor of | ||||||
| 6 | "The Ironworker" magazine; in 2007, General President Hunt | ||||||
| 7 | appointed him to serve as a General Vice President of the | ||||||
| 8 | International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental, | ||||||
| 9 | and Reinforcing Iron Workers and assigned him to the St. Louis | ||||||
| 10 | area, where he was elected to serve as President of the Iron | ||||||
| 11 | Workers District Council of St. Louis and Vicinity, whose | ||||||
| 12 | jurisdiction covers 11 locals in 7 states in the Midwest; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Over the years, Tadas Kicielinski has served on | ||||||
| 14 | numerous boards and commissions in Washington D.C., Missouri, | ||||||
| 15 | and Illinois, including the Metropolitan St. Louis Regional | ||||||
| 16 | Commerce and Growth Association, the Leadership Council of | ||||||
| 17 | Southwestern Illinois, the Illinois River Bend Growth | ||||||
| 18 | Association, the St. Clair County Workforce Development Board, | ||||||
| 19 | and many others; he currently serves as a Commissioner for | ||||||
| 20 | METRO and is a member of the Transportation for Illinois | ||||||
| 21 | Coalition and the Illinois AFL-CIO Executive Board; and
| ||||||
| 22 | WHEREAS, Tadas Kicielinski and his wife of 47 years, Cindy, | ||||||
| 23 | live in Collinsville; the couple plans on spending many | ||||||
| |||||||

| 1 | enjoyable winter months at their residence in Naples, Florida; | ||||||
| 2 | therefore, be it

| 3 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 4 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 5 | we honor Tadas Kicielinski for his many achievements and wish | ||||||
| 6 | him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it | ||||||
| 7 | further

| 8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 9 | presented to Tadas Kicielinski as a symbol of our esteem and | ||||||
| 10 | respect.
