| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of former | ||||||
| 4 | Hinsdale Police Chief James A. Eccardt of Westmont, who passed | ||||||
| 5 | away on June 3, 2015; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Chief Eccardt grew up in Berwyn; he served in the | ||||||
| 7 | United States Marines during the Vietnam War and was a Purple | ||||||
| 8 | Heart recipient; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Chief Eccardt worked for the Hinsdale Police | ||||||
| 10 | Department for 31 years; he worked as detective supervisor for | ||||||
| 11 | 10 years before being promoted to Chief; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Chief Eccardt was a loving husband, father, and | ||||||
| 13 | grandfather; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Chief Eccardt was an avid fan of the Chicago | ||||||
| 15 | Blackhawks and Chicago Bears; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Chief Eccardt is survived by his wife, Melanie | ||||||
| 17 | (nee Wadas); his children, Kimberly (Joseph) Musial and James | ||||||
| 18 | Eccardt, Jr.; and his grandchildren, Gillian, Joey, and Phoebe | ||||||
| 19 | Musial; therefore, be it

| 1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 2 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 3 | mourn the passing of former Hinsdale Police Chief James A. | ||||||
| 4 | Eccardt, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
| 5 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 7 | presented to the family of Chief Eccardt as an expression of | ||||||
| 8 | our deepest sympathy.
