| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Paul | ||||||
| 4 | Arthur Walker of Ewing, who passed away on June 22, 2015; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Paul Walker was born in Ewing on August 28, 1929 | ||||||
| 6 | to Mason and Wilma (Toombs) Walker; he married Ella Dillow on | ||||||
| 7 | September 18, 1948; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Paul Walker served his country for 21 years in the | ||||||
| 9 | United States Navy as a chief in aviation mechanics; he fought | ||||||
| 10 | in the Korean War and made numerous cruises on board the USS | ||||||
| 11 | Hancock, the USS Kitty Hawk, and the USS Bennington; he also | ||||||
| 12 | taught mechanics to air crewmen at Coronado Island, California; | ||||||
| 13 | and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, After retiring, Paul Walker worked for PSA | ||||||
| 15 | Airlines as a mechanic and at Hughes Tool Factory, both in | ||||||
| 16 | California; he and his wife moved back to Ewing in 1976 and | ||||||
| 17 | opened a welding shop; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Paul Walker served as the mayor of Ewing for 14 | ||||||
| 19 | years and as a deacon at Ewing Baptist Church; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Paul Walker was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||

| 1 | his son, Arthur Dale Walker; his 4 sisters; and his 4 brothers; | ||||||
| 2 | and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Paul Walker is survived by his wife of 66 years, | ||||||
| 4 | Ella; his sons, Michael (Wanda) Walker and Robert (Patricia) | ||||||
| 5 | Walker; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, | ||||||
| 6 | nephews, cousins, and great friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 8 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 9 | mourn the passing of Paul Arthur Walker, and extend our sincere | ||||||
| 10 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
| 11 | him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 13 | presented to the family of Paul Walker as an expression of our | ||||||
| 14 | deepest sympathy.
