| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives would like to congratulate Kendall
County | ||||||
| 4 | Judge Tim McCann of Oswego on his retirement after a | ||||||
| 5 | distinguished career of service in
Kendall County; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Judge McCann graduated from Oswego High School in | ||||||
| 7 | 1977;
he then attended Aurora University, where he graduated | ||||||
| 8 | with a bachelor's degree; after receiving
his undergraduate | ||||||
| 9 | degree, he attended Northern Illinois University, where he | ||||||
| 10 | received his
Juris Doctorate; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Judge McCann began his career in public service in | ||||||
| 12 | 1996 when he was first elected as Kendall
County State's | ||||||
| 13 | Attorney; he was successfully re-elected in 2000 and 2004; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Judge McCann served in the Twenty-Third Judicial | ||||||
| 15 | Circuit (Second Appellate
District) Court, first as an | ||||||
| 16 | associate judge in 2005 and then as chief judge from 2012 to | ||||||
| 17 | 2016; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Judge McCann's legacy of service and commitment to | ||||||
| 19 | the preservation of law was honored by members
of the Kendall | ||||||
| 20 | County Board in August of 2019 with Kendall County Board | ||||||
| 21 | Chairman Scott Gryder
notably stating, "there are certain | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | people who have just a tremendous impact on our county, and | ||||||
| 2 | Judge
McCann is one of those people"; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, In a statement announcing his retirement, Judge | ||||||
| 4 | McCann noted that he "will always be
indebted to the people of | ||||||
| 5 | Kendall County" who showed him such great support over the | ||||||
| 6 | years; without a doubt, the
support he received throughout the | ||||||
| 7 | years was a testament to his commitment to the people of | ||||||
| 8 | Kendall County as a member of the judicial system; therefore, | ||||||
| 9 | be it
| ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 11 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 12 | we congratulate Judge Tim McCann on his many years of service | ||||||
| 13 | as a Kendall County Judge
and wish him a peaceful and healthy | ||||||
| 14 | retirement; and be it further
| ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 16 | presented to Judge McCann as a symbol of our
great esteem and | ||||||
| 17 | appreciation for a remarkable career in public service in | ||||||
| 18 | Kendall County.
