Bill Title: Urge the Governor and the members of the General Assembly to take suggestions made by students of the Chicago Vocational Career Academy in Chicago into consideration and to pass legislation that would address these concerns.

| 2 | WHEREAS, Resolutions express consensus of criticism or | ||||||
| 3 | support on social issues, legal rights, court opinions, and | ||||||
| 4 | even decisions by the Executive Branch; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, The students of the Chicago Vocational Career | ||||||
| 6 | Academy in Chicago have expressed their opinions on various | ||||||
| 7 | measures that should be undertaken by the State of Illinois; | ||||||
| 8 | and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The Chicago Vocational Career Academy's Class of | ||||||
| 10 | 2015 has expressed their belief that the State should guarantee | ||||||
| 11 | free tuition at Illinois public universities for all students | ||||||
| 12 | with a 3.0 GPA and a minimum score of 19 on the ACT; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, The Chicago Vocational Career Academy's Class of | ||||||
| 14 | 2016 has expressed their belief that the State should provide | ||||||
| 15 | bus pick-up service for all residents in centralized areas; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, The Chicago Vocational Career Academy's Class of | ||||||
| 17 | 2017 has expressed their belief that the State should require | ||||||
| 18 | members of a community who are age 16 or older to be hired | ||||||
| 19 | first when businesses open in their communities; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, The Chicago Vocational Career Academy's Class of | ||||||

| 1 | 2018 has expressed their belief that the State should provide | ||||||
| 2 | bus passes for all students to get to and from school during | ||||||
| 3 | school hours; therefore, be it

| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 5 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 6 | urge the Governor and the members of the General Assembly to | ||||||
| 7 | take the aforementioned suggestions into consideration and to | ||||||
| 8 | pass legislation that would address these concerns; and be it | ||||||
| 9 | further

| 10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 11 | presented to the Chicago Vocational Career Academy as a symbol | ||||||
| 12 | of our esteem and respect.
