HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of David R.
Glover, Sr., who passed away on June 6, 2015; and
WHEREAS, David Glover, Sr. was born in Walterboro, South
Carolina on February 7, 1957 to Clarence and Annie Ruth Glover;
he graduated from Proviso East High School in 1975, where he
was an outstanding athlete in football and wrestling; he
received a full football scholarship to Drake University in Des
Moines, Iowa, where he again flourished as a football player
and received the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player
Award; he was also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity,
Inc.; he graduated from Drake University in 1979 and later
attended the University of Illinois at Chicago; and
WHEREAS, David Glover, Sr. worked as an educator for School
District 209 for over 30 years, working at both Proviso East
and Proviso West high schools; he served in the roles of
teacher, Dean of Students, and coach; and
WHEREAS, David Glover, Sr. was preceded in death by his
mother, Annie Ruth Glover; his sister, Joyce Richardson; and
his brother, Gregory E. Glover; and

WHEREAS, David Glover, Sr. is survived by his wire,
Veronica F. Glover; his 2 daughters, A'Shantia Glover-Wright
and Avianca Glover; his son, David R. Glover, Jr.; his 2
grandchildren, Anija and Bryan, Jr. "B.J."; his siblings, Brant
(Anita) Glover, Arnold (Sylvia) Glover, Donald (Tina) Glover,
Annette Kendall (Tom), and Ruth Faith "Faye" Glover; and a host
of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and
colleagues; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
mourn the passing of David R. Glover, Sr., and extend our
sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
and loved him; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of David Glover, Sr. as an expression
of our deepest sympathy.
