2 | WHEREAS, Brigadier General Richard J. Hayes, Jr. of Chatham | ||||||

Governor Bruce Rauner to the | ||||||
4 | distinguished position of Adjutant General of the Illinois | ||||||

Guard; and

6 | WHEREAS, General Hayes was commissioned in 1987 from the | ||||||
7 | Reserve Officer
Training Corps program at the University of | ||||||
8 | Kansas as a field artillery officer; he has served nearly
25 | ||||||
9 | years with the Illinois National Guard; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, General Hayes held several previous positions in | ||||||
11 | the Illinois National
Guard, including battery commander with | ||||||
12 | Battery C, 2nd Battalion, 122nd Field Artillery in
Chicago; | ||||||
13 | commander of 2nd Battalion, 122nd Field Artillery, also in | ||||||
14 | Chicago; commander of
Task Force 122 in New Orleans, Louisiana, | ||||||
15 | during Hurricane Katrina and Rita Relief
Operations; assistant | ||||||
16 | chief of staff G3 for the 35th Infantry Division; deputy | ||||||
17 | commander of Task
Force Falcon in Kosovo, Serbia; director of | ||||||
