| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the tragic death of | ||||||
| 4 | one of its own citizens who dedicated their life to serving | ||||||
| 5 | this great country; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, United States Marine Corps Corporal Brandon David | ||||||
| 7 | Meyers of Plainfield passed away on June 28, 2013; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Cpl. Brandon Meyers, known to his loved ones as | ||||||
| 9 | "Bubba", graduated from Plainfield Central High School in 2006; | ||||||
| 10 | and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Cpl. Brandon Meyers enlisted in the United States | ||||||
| 12 | Marine Corps right after graduating from high school; after | ||||||
| 13 | completing basic training, he served the country he loved by | ||||||
| 14 | completing two tours in Iraq; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, When Cpl. Brandon Meyers returned home in November | ||||||
| 16 | of 2010, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spent countless | ||||||
| 17 | hours working on cars with his father; he was also restoring | ||||||
| 18 | his 1968 Chevelle; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Cpl. Brandon Meyers is survived by his devoted | ||||||
| 20 | parents, David and Wendy Meyers; his loving sister, Tiffany | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Meyers; his grandparents, George and Shirley Ketchmark; and his | ||||||
| 2 | many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Cpl. Brandon Meyers was a true friend and a man | ||||||
| 4 | that was proud of who he was, who he became, and of the years he | ||||||
| 5 | spent serving his country; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Cpl. Brandon Meyers' patriotism and courage will | ||||||
| 7 | be remembered by his loving family, his friends, and the | ||||||
| 8 | citizens of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 10 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 11 | we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 12 | United States Marine Corps Corporal Brandon D. Meyers; and be | ||||||
| 13 | it further
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 15 | presented to the family of Cpl. Brandon Meyers as an expression | ||||||
| 16 | of our sincere sympathy.
