| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate James Quinn on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his retirement as Fire Chief of the | ||||||
| 5 | Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District after 21 years | ||||||
| 6 | of dedicated service; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, James Quinn has served the residents and | ||||||
| 8 | businesses of the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection | ||||||
| 9 | District for the past 41 years; he began his career as a | ||||||
| 10 | firefighter in May of 1970; he steadily ascended the ranks of | ||||||
| 11 | the district, becoming Deputy Chief in August of 1980 and Fire | ||||||
| 12 | Chief in February of 1990; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, James Quinn has been a member of numerous fire | ||||||
| 14 | service organizations, including the Illinois Fire Chiefs | ||||||
| 15 | Association, the Northeastern Fire Chiefs Association, and the | ||||||
| 16 | Illinois Fire Chiefs Association's Educational and Research | ||||||
| 17 | Foundation; he has also been a 20-year volunteer with the | ||||||
| 18 | Illinois Fire Safety Alliance Burn Camp "I Am Me" and was a | ||||||
| 19 | founding member of the Illinois Firefighter Memorial; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, The members of this august body, along with his | ||||||
| 21 | wife, Annette, and his daughters, Shannon and Robin, are proud | ||||||
| 22 | of James Quinn's great dedication to the safety and well-being | ||||||

| 1 | of the citizens of the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection | ||||||
| 2 | District and the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 3 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 4 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 5 | we congratulate James Quinn on the occasion of his retirement | ||||||
| 6 | and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it | ||||||
