| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Maya Scott James on | ||||||
| 4 | becoming the 2017 119lb/Female Novice Class Chicago Golden | ||||||
| 5 | Gloves Champion; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Maya James won the title match with a 2nd round | ||||||
| 7 | TKO over Domencia Jaramillo; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Maya James is a 16-year-old junior and honor roll | ||||||
| 9 | student at Walter Payton College Prep; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Maya James fights from the South Paw stance, but | ||||||
| 11 | will switch to an orthodox style of fighting and back | ||||||
| 12 | throughout her fights; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Maya James trains out of Sam Colonna's Boxing | ||||||
| 14 | Club; she is trained by Rita Figueroa and Kim Carlson, both | ||||||
| 15 | former Golden Gloves Champions; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Maya James looks to fight in the open division | ||||||
| 17 | next year in the same weight class; therefore, be it

| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
